Yours in Christ,

The SJLC Stewardship Team

Dear Beloved in Christ,

Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Every year, as we enter this season of stewardship, we return to a truth at the heart of our Lutheran faith: everything we have is a gift of God’s grace. Our time, our abilities, our resources, and even our very breath are entrusted to us so that we might use them for God’s purposes in the world.

Over this past year, we have seen God at work in and through our congregation. We have worshiped together, prayed for one another, welcomed new faces, supported ministries in our community, and tended to those in need. In all of this, you have been a vessel of God’s grace—through your presence, your prayers, and your generosity.

As we look toward the coming year, we are again invited to consider how we will support the ministry God has entrusted to us. Stewardship is not about meeting a budget; it is about responding to God’s abundance with gratitude. It is about asking, “Given all that God has done for me, how is God calling me to give, serve, and participate?”

To help us plan faithfully and responsibly for the work ahead, we ask each household to prayerfully complete a pledge card for the coming year. Your pledge—your intentional, prayed-over commitment—allows the church council and staff to shape a budget that supports our shared mission.

Please take time over the next week to reflect on the blessings God has placed in your life. Pray. Talk with your family. Consider how your giving can be an expression of trust in God’s provision and partnership in Christ’s mission.

Enclosed/Attached you will find your pledge card. You may return it in worship, mail it to the church office, or submit it electronically at www.sjlcamherst.com/pledge . Thank you for your generosity, your faith, and your commitment to this community of believers. God is working through you, and I am grateful.

In Christ’s steadfast love,

Pastor Scott
