What to expect
We understand it can be intimidating to come to worship for the first time at a church you've never been to before. We want to help make your first experience at St. John a great one!
Worship Times
Worship with us on Sunday Mornings @ 8:30 & 10:30AM. During the summer we combine both services and worship at 9:30AM.
Additional worship opportunities are available during Lent and Advent and can be found on our event page.
What are services like?
Our worship services run approximately one hour and follows a liturgical format that is generally consistent from week to week. You can expect biblical readings, music, a sermon, prayers, and Holy Communion. The entire service is printed in a worship bulletin you will receive upon arrival.
We recognize that not everyone prefers the worship the same way. And so, we offer a different styles of worship.
Our 8:30 worship is a contemporary format. Much of our music can be found on the top Christian charts and is led by our band. The pastor doesn't wear a robe. Our 10:30 worship follow a more traditional Lutheran liturgy. Our music consists of traditional Lutheran worship hymns and anthems led by cantor, organ, piano and choir. In the summer we blend both contemporary and traditional elements into the worship service.
What to wear?
Come as you are. You'll find people wearing everything from suits to jeans.
What about my kids?
Your children are welcome during our worship services. If they are making noise - it's ok! Children aren’t only invited... they are encouraged to be children!
A Nursery is available if you need to step out with your child. We offer live feed audio in our Nursery area.
We offer Sunday School for kids in Pre-K through 5th grade during the 8:30AM service. Children participate in a children's message with the pastor and then head to the Gathering Space for a lesson. Children return to their families before communion.
